Day 10- Wednesday, July 21, 2010
This morning we were woken up at 4 am in Chikudzulire. Once we woke up, we went outside in the dark and prayed. After that, Edward placed us with different chores. I went with the older girls of the village and washed dishes at the well. After, the people from our team watered the dirt so it wouldn’t be dusty for the celebration that took place today. Once we finished, some of the widows taught us a song in Chichewa and we sang it to welcome the rest of our team when they arrived. It was so awesome! I felt like a true Malawian :) We also had on our Head wraps and body wraps that we got from Theresa the day before! Then all the chiefs arrived and the team members who stayed the night in the village and all of the youth sang a song we taught them that night. “Rise and shine, and give God the glory glory…” Everyone loved it!
Final Thoughts:
I never ever ever want to leave this place.
